OK, so i was totally against blogging for a long time, but i have to admit it is kind of fun. I just wish people still wanted to get to know you on a personal level. This is personal, but human contact can't be surpassed. I still think it is good to slow down and appreciate spending time with people, getting to know them. The world is moving so fast and our interaction with one another may be more frequent, but the quality is greatly diminished. Maybe that's why I love photography, because I can make things stand still, and give people a piece of time that they can take with them. Which in turn forces us to stay longer in that moment every time we revisit a picture. Moments are taken for granted so often that sometimes we don't realize how significant they were until we see the picture and reflect on the past. What an amazing thing to be able to freeze time and emotion, and revisit them time and time again. I hope we all remember to slow down and take time with the people around us. Without relationships we have nothing.

Glass Phase 3

This one is one of my favorites. A really great friend of mine gave me the antique glass necklace, and i wanted to use it in a photograph. The lighting was so simple. Just a parabolic behind a scrim and I used a black card underneath the glass to make the edges pop.

High Key Phase 3

The model is my sister; the beautiful Alisha Renee. So far this has been my most popular photo this year. It was chosen for the cover of the student open house invitations for Hallmark and for the website. http://student.hallmark.edu/openhouse/. I was so excited when they told me!
